Mrs. Rose Dung has assumed duty as the 32nd Commissioner of Police for the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Lagos, following the promotion of her predecessor, Okunade Ronke, to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
The development was confirmed by the Unit’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ovie Ewhubare.
In her remarks, Dung thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the opportunity and pledged to uphold professionalism, the rule of law, and the unit’s core mandate of tackling fraud and financial crimes.
A native of Owan West LGA in Edo State, Dung holds a B.Sc. in Sociology from the former Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma).
She joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet ASP and began her career at the Abia State Command.
With over 30 years in service, she has held several key positions including DPO Agbara (Ogun State), Commandant, Police Training School Iperu, ACP Admin (Ondo), DCP Admin (Bauchi), and most recently, Commissioner of Police (Welfare), Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Dung is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Women Police.
She has attended numerous strategic and leadership courses both locally and internationally.
