Top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have pledged unwavering loyalty to former National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and committed to mobilizing support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The resolution was made during a strategic meeting convened by Ganduje on Tuesday at his Kano residence.

Attendees included party leaders, elected officials, former appointees, and grassroots executives.

Notably absent were Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, reportedly abroad following the death of his mother-in-law and Minister of State for Housing Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, whose absence was unexplained.

In a communiqué issued after the meeting, Kano APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas hailed Ganduje’s leadership and party reforms, including digital registration, the Progressive Institute, and empowerment schemes.

“Stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their unflinching loyalty to Dr. Ganduje, endorsing him as the undisputed leader of APC in Kano State,” the statement read.

Present at the gathering were Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila; 2023 APC governorship and deputy governorship candidates Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Murtala Sule Garo; Minister of State for FCT Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure; and several lawmakers.

The stakeholders commended President Tinubu for key federal projects in the North, particularly in Kano.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hon. Abba Kabir Bichi highlighted major investments such as the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway, Kano-Hadeja Road, the Kano Railway Bypass, and the proposed $1 billion light rail project for Kano.

“As Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, I can confirm these allocations. The president has done a lot, and we must acknowledge the progress,” Bichi said.

Dr. Bunkure described the meeting as a show of strength and unity. “This turnout proves the APC in Kano remains united. We are already preparing for 2027,” she stated.

The meeting ended with a renewed call for unity, discipline, and continued support for Ganduje and President Tinubu.
