Former All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential aspirant, Charles Udeogaranya, has advised President Bola Tinubu to refrain from projecting a re-election ambition for 2027 at this stage.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Udeogaranya described such early politicking as premature and potentially distracting from critical governance priorities.

He urged the President to focus on addressing pressing national issues such as economic recovery, security reforms, and restoring public confidence, rather than engaging in second-term conversations.

“Excessive attention to political positioning could wear out the public and embolden the opposition,” he said, urging Tinubu to consolidate governance gains first.

Udeogaranya’s warning aligns with views expressed by other political voices, including former APC caretaker committee member, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who also cautioned against early 2027 talks.

They stressed that early campaigning risks alienating stakeholders and deepening internal party divisions, at a time when national performance and institutional stability should take precedence.
