Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, urging him to quit switching political parties as he nears 80.
Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, Wike said Atiku’s frequent defections show a lack of ideological consistency.
“You are nearly 80, stop jumping from one party to another,” Wike said. “Let younger people lead with stability and focus.”
He accused Atiku of weakening the opposition, especially during crucial election cycles.
Wike, a former PDP chieftain now aligned with the APC, has been vocal about leadership and reform within the opposition.
The clash deepens ongoing tensions within the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.
