Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been released on conditional bail after a brief appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court over multiple sexual offence charges.

The 32-year-old Ghanaian faces five rape charges and one sexual assault charge, involving three women between 2021 and 2022. Partey denies all allegations.

He was not required to enter a plea but acknowledged the charges and bail conditions. The case moves to the Old Bailey on September 2.

Though arrested in July 2022, Partey’s identity remained undisclosed until now. He continued playing for Arsenal during the investigation.

His lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, stated: “Thomas Partey denies all charges and has fully cooperated with authorities. He looks forward to clearing his name.”

Partey’s £45 million Arsenal deal ended on June 30, with the club declining comment due to legal proceedings. He made 52 appearances last season.
