The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has increased petrol prices across its retail outlets nationwide.
In Abuja and surrounding areas, the new pump price stands at N955 per litre, up from N890. In Lagos, the price has risen from N865 to N915.
The hike has sparked concern among commuters and business owners already grappling with inflation and high living costs.
A survey by the Nigerian Tribune confirmed the new prices at NNPC stations in the Central Business District, Wuse, Berger, Nyanya, and Mararaba in Nasarawa State.
Independent marketers are adjusting prices at varying rates. MRS in AYA still sells at N850, AA Rano charges N920, while NIPCO, Zamson, and AYM Shafa outlets in Mararaba also sell at N920 per litre.
NNPC has not issued an official statement on the new prices. The adjustment follows Dangote Refinery’s recent upward review of its ex-depot price from N820 to N858 per litre.
