A 17-year-old Nigerian girl, Nafisat Aminu from Yobe State, has emerged the overall best in English Language at the TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom.
The international competition, which drew over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, promotes English proficiency and critical thinking among teenagers worldwide.
Nafisat’s victory sparked celebration on social media, with many Nigerians praising her brilliance.
On X (formerly Twitter), @abbeykool posted, “Nigeria wins again.” Another user added, “We have the best brains; we dominate anywhere.”
Her win adds to a string of global academic and sports achievements by Nigerians.
Recently, President Bola Tinubu rewarded the D’Tigress and Super Falcons with $100,000 each for winning African basketball and football championships.
Nafisat’s feat is seen as another testament to the excellence and potential of Nigerian youth.
