Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has requested a transfer from Atalanta and skipped training on Monday in protest over the club’s refusal to let him join Inter Milan despite a reported €45 million offer.
Sources say Lookman is frustrated with Atalanta’s decision to block the move, accusing the club of going back on verbal promises to allow him leave if a suitable bid came in.
The 26-year-old, who starred for Nigeria at AFCON 2023 and scored 15 goals for Atalanta last season, has deleted all Atalanta-related posts from his social media.
Inter’s offer reportedly meets Atalanta’s valuation, but the club is unwilling to sell to a Serie A rival.
CEO Luca Percassi confirmed that Lookman could leave this summer but only to clubs outside Italy.
The forward, under contract until 2027, now faces an uncertain future as the transfer window nears its end.
Tottenham, PSG and RB Leipzig are said to be monitoring the situation but have yet to submit formal bids.
