The husband of a nurse murdered alongside a four-year-old child at a private school in Lokogoma, Abuja, is calling on authorities to ensure justice is served swiftly.
The victims, identified as Mrs. Grace Oche and the young pupil, were found dead in a classroom last week, both showing signs of strangulation.
According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, initial investigations revealed that the attack occurred after school hours. The assailants had reportedly demanded a ransom of N3 million from the child’s parents.
Mrs. Oche’s husband described her as a kind and dedicated professional who was only carrying out her duties. Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, he expressed his shock and heartbreak over the killing.
“This is not just my pain; this is a blow to every parent and caregiver in this country,” he lamented.
The police have arrested two suspects, who allegedly confessed to luring the victims into the classroom before killing them.
The incident has sparked public outrage, with many Nigerians on social media calling for better security measures in schools and justice for the victims.
