The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party faction, Abayomi Arabambi, has cautioned Nigerians not to trust Peter Obi’s pledge to serve only one term if elected president in 2027.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Arabambi described the promise as a political trick aimed at gaining sympathy ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Peter Obi is only playing on the emotions of Nigerians. We must not fall for it,” he said, adding that there is no legal backing to enforce such a promise.
He urged Nigerians to demand transparency and issue-based campaigns instead of emotional appeals and empty pledges.
Amid rising speculation over Obi’s 2027 ambition, Arabambi said his faction remains committed to rescuing the party from what he described as “personalisation and dictatorship.”
