The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the arrest of several suspects linked to a violent outbreak on Friday in the Kuchibyi community of Bwari Area Council, triggered by a longstanding land dispute.
Police officers from the Byazin and Kubwa divisions responded swiftly to a distress call, promptly restoring order and preventing further escalation.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the timely intervention helped avert what could have been a more serious crisis.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, condemned the attack on officers who responded to the scene, warning that assaults on security personnel will not be tolerated.
He assured that anyone found guilty would face the full weight of the law.
In a statement released Saturday, the Command urged youths in the area to remain calm, avoid violence, and support ongoing peace efforts.
The police also reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all FCT residents as investigations continue to identify and prosecute those behind the disturbance.
