The Federal Capital Territory Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-CPWB) has screened 250 intending pilgrims for its 2025 pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, slated for August and September.
Director of the Board, Gloria Dandam, disclosed this during a mop-up screening exercise held in Abuja in collaboration with the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).
“This is our second screening. We already conducted the main one earlier. The aim is to ensure all intending pilgrims meet the necessary requirements,” Dandam explained.
She noted that 140 individuals, mostly private-sponsored, were screened in the first batch, while 110 were processed in the second round. Only those who meet all criteria will be invited to make payment.
Dandam confirmed that a pre-visit to Israel showed that the selected sites are in peaceful and secure zones.
“We may be the second group to depart, so we must finalize and forward our list to the NCPC for visa issuance,” she added.
She emphasized that shortlisted candidates will receive payment notifications, after which the Board will complete documentation and submit final names to the NCPC.
The pilgrimage will be restricted to approved safe zones in both countries.
