Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), meeting scheduled for Thursday at the Presidential Villa.

The meeting took place at the residence of Imo State Governor and Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma.

Among those in attendance were Governors Babagana Zulum (Borno), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Senator Uba Sani (Kaduna).

Although no official agenda was disclosed, party insiders say the talks focused on selecting a new national chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje in June, who stepped down citing health concerns.

His exit left a leadership vacuum ahead of crucial by-elections, including governorship races in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun states.
