A member of the House of Representatives from Akwa Ibom State, Clement Jimbo, has called on the National Assembly to urge the judiciary to deliver judgments that are clear and free of ambiguity.

He expressed concern over a growing trend of court rulings that are open to multiple interpretations, leading to confusion and conflicting claims by parties involved in legal disputes.

“A judgment that allows different interpretations where one party claims it means one thing and the other claims it means another is inherently conflicting,” Jimbo stated.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker emphasized that judicial decisions must be precise to uphold the integrity of the legal system.

Jimbo made the appeal during plenary while raising a motion on personal explanation on the floor of the House.

Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, who presided over the session, acknowledged Jimbo’s point of order and noted it for the record.
