President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with key members of his economic and fiscal team. In attendance are the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); and Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji.

While the official agenda has not been disclosed, a source within the presidency described the session as part of a routine briefing, where officials in strategic positions update the President on developments in their respective sectors.

Notably, the officials arrived separately for the meeting.

The gathering comes in the wake of President Tinubu’s recent signing of four key tax reform bills into law, which are scheduled to take effect in January 2026. It is expected that the FIRS Chairman will update the President on preparations and strategies for implementing the new tax laws.

Additionally, the CBN Governor is anticipated to brief the President on current monetary and fiscal policy matters, while the Finance and Budget Ministers are expected to provide updates on the state of the economy and ongoing economic reforms.
