A prominent businessman and Pro-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Dr. Deji Adeleke has announced the completion of a 1250MW power plant in Ajebamidele, Ondo State, which is set to create over 2,000 jobs for engineers and related professionals.

The facility, however, remains idle pending connection to the national gas grid.

Speaking at the convocation of Adeleke University, Ede, the business mogul lamented Nigeria’s flawed electoral system, warning that vote-selling and electoral violence hinder economic growth and deter foreign investors.

“The plant is ready but awaiting gas connection,” Adeleke said, highlighting the role of General Electric in supplying turbines for the project.

He stressed that credible elections are key to unlocking Nigeria’s vast economic potential and urged citizens to reject vote-trading and demand accountability from leaders.
