Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has dismissed rumours about her HIV status and vowed to take legal action against a content creator who falsely claimed she is HIV positive.
Amusa, who previously posted her HIV-negative result on social media to encourage fans to get tested, expressed disappointment over the spread of misinformation for social media clout.
“A few years ago, I did an HIV test, which came out negative. I posted it to encourage my fans to get theirs done,” she said. “Some days ago, a content creator claimed I’m HIV positive. He will be my scapegoat and serve as a lesson to others. I am HIV negative.”
The actress warned bloggers and content creators against spreading unverified information, saying such actions have real consequences on individuals and their loved ones.
