The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent appointments in Northern Nigeria, calling them “too little, too late” and a political move to appease the region ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Saturday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Bamidele Ajadi, said the North was sidelined in Tinubu’s initial appointments and only now being considered for strategic reasons.

“President Tinubu is scrambling to fix what he should have gotten right from day one.

“Northerners can see through this tactic, it is insincere and purely strategic,” Ajadi said.

He urged the President to end “window-dressing” and instead foster genuine equity and inclusion in governance. According to Ajadi, national unity depends on fair treatment for all regions.

The Presidency has yet to respond to the allegations, but the ADC’s remarks come amid growing political tension and preparations for the 2027 polls.
