Suspected bandits killed six people and abducted over 100 others in Kairu village, Bukuyum LGA of Zamfara State, during an overnight attack between Thursday and Friday.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers arrived on motorcycles, opened fire, looted homes, and whisked mostly women and children into the forest.
A community leader decried the lack of security, saying repeated calls for help were ignored.
Meanwhile, in Nkpor, Anambra State, a mob killed Police Inspector Okechukwu Ezema after accusing him and his team of robbing POS operators during an illegal patrol. One civilian also died in the clash.
Police have launched investigations, distancing the force from the alleged misconduct and vowing to prosecute any guilty officers.
The two incidents have sparked renewed concerns over rising insecurity and misconduct by security personnel across Nigeria.
