Former APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has ridiculed Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, over his alleged plan to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the governor lacks popularity and integrity.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels TV, Omisore claimed Adeleke is “running around begging to join APC” because he is unpopular in Osun.
He insisted that while defection is allowed, “he must do it properly,” noting that neither the state nor national APC leadership is aware of Adeleke’s move.
Omisore accused the governor of reneging on political agreements in the past, citing failed alliances in 2014, 2018, and 2022.
“If Adeleke is truly popular, let him remain in the PDP and face us in 2026. Anyone with the APC ticket will win Osun,” he said.
He added that Adeleke’s 2022 victory was not based on real popularity and criticized his alleged attempt to use influence from Ogun and Abuja to force his way into the APC.
