The inaugural North Central Youth Table Tennis Championship kicked off on Saturday, July 13, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, drawing young talents from across the region.
Organized in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the tournament targets players aged 10 to 18, aiming to discover grassroots talent and revive interest in table tennis.
Director of Grassroots Sports Development, Dr. Ademola Are, described the event as a step toward building future champions and keeping youth engaged.
Participants from six North Central states and the FCT are competing in various categories.
The five-day event features vibrant displays of skill and has attracted praise from coaches, parents, and sports stakeholders.
Winners will receive medals, trophies, and opportunities for further development.
