Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress have crashed out of the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup in Brno, Czech Republic, after a 77-51 loss to Hungary.
They now move to the classification round to battle for places 9–16.
The team earlier lost to Portugal (79-61) and Canada (113-42), but recorded a historic first-ever World Cup win by defeating China 93-88 in their opener.
Their exit has been linked to poor shooting, weak defense, and costly turnovers.
Reports also cite late funding from the National Sports Commission as a setback to the team’s preparation.
