Suspected hoodlums have killed a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), member, Shuaibu Adamu, in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
The incident occurred behind the AA Rano filling station along the Abuja-Lokoja highway, where the attackers reportedly struck Adamu with a hammer while he was riding home, then fled with his motorcycle.
Eyewitnesses said passersby later identified the victim and alerted his family, who rushed him to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Adamu, a native of Abaji and son of Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, the district head of Unguwar Sabon-Tasha, was serving in Kogi LGA and had visited relatives in Gwagwalada.
He was buried on Tuesday in Abaji. Residents of Gwagwalada, Kwali, and Abaji have raised concerns over a recent spike in motorcycle snatching.
FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, was yet to confirm the incident as of press time.
