The Federal Government has set December 31, 2025, as the deadline to fully transition Nigeria’s Civil Service to a paperless, digital system.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, restated this commitment during a tour of Galaxy Backbone Limited’s facilities in Abuja.

She revealed that over 34,000 civil servants have already been integrated into the “War Room” digital platform, which uses the GovMail system to enhance communication and service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Walson-Jack praised Galaxy Backbone’s digital infrastructure, including fibre-optic connectivity in 28 states and a Tier III-certified Data Centre, describing it as vital to real-time public sector operations.

Accompanied by key officials, including Permanent Secretary Adeladan Rafiu, the HCSF identified critical areas for collaboration, such as expanding the 1Government Cloud, deploying an Enterprise Content Management System, and training civil servants to improve digital skills.

“I now see Galaxy Backbone as a strategic partner in our journey toward a modern and agile Civil Service,” she said.

Galaxy Backbone CEO, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, pledged continued support for Nigeria’s digital transformation goals.
