Abuja has been selected to host the maiden edition of the Nigeria International Air Show scheduled for December 2025, edging out Lagos and Uyo.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, made the announcement during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Interior.
He said Abuja was chosen for its accessibility and strategic importance.
According to a statement by the Head of Press and Public Affairs, Odutayo Seyi, Dr. Kana emphasized the need for inter-agency collaboration to ensure smooth logistics, safety, and entry processes for local and international participants.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend the event.
Dr. Kana highlighted the key roles of agencies under the Interior Ministry, such as the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Federal Road Safety Corps in facilitating visa processing, security, and traffic control.
In response, Interior Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalena Ajani, and Immigration Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap, pledged full support, including enhancements to the online visa system for seamless access.
