Veteran journalist and former presidential aspirant, Chief Dele Momodu, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the party’s takeover by antidemocratic forces.
In a letter dated July 17, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward 4 Chairman in Ihievbe, Edo State, Momodu announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He described the PDP as a “carcass” hijacked by internal and external forces and said it was honourable to move on and join a new coalition.
Momodu, who joined the PDP in 2021, thanked his ward leaders and pledged continued commitment to national development.
His move adds to the wave of defections ahead of the 2027 elections.
