An Abuja High Court has declared former Senate President, Ameh Ebute, the rightful owner of a disputed plot in Wuye District, ending a legal tussle spanning 25 years.
Justice Maryanne Anenih ruled that Ebute’s 1993 allocation of Plot L346 by the FCDA remains valid, rendering a subsequent allocation to former FCDA director Emmanuel Okereke null and void.
Okereke, who had obtained a Certificate of Occupancy, demanded N100 million in damages for alleged trespass.
However, AGIS records confirmed Ebute’s plot was never revoked or reassigned.
The court upheld the principle of “first in time,” ordered a fresh C-of-O for Ebute, and issued a perpetual injunction to prevent further interference.
