Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday led a National Assembly delegation to Daura, Katsina State, to condole with Governor Dikko Radda over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Akpabio described Buhari as a patriot and man of integrity who served Nigeria selflessly.
He revealed their earlier attempt to visit was delayed due to flight challenges caused by airport closure.
“We returned today to honour a man who gave everything for Nigeria,” Akpabio said, recalling Buhari’s humility and discipline, including how the former president insisted the Faculty of Law at Federal University Dutsin-Ma be named after him instead of Akpabio.
Governor Radda expressed deep sorrow, describing Buhari as a father figure and mentor.
“His loss is deeply personal. He always urged me to fear God and lead with justice,” he said.
