London Mayor Sadiq Khan has embarked on his first official visit to Nigeria and Africa, since assuming office, leading a delegation of 26 UK-based unicorn companies to strengthen business ties between London and Nigeria.
During his visit, Khan expressed admiration for Lagos’ vibrant culture and thriving business environment.
He visited the Nike Art Gallery, a renowned cultural center dedicated to preserving Nigeria’s rich artistic heritage and empowering a new generation of creatives.
In an interview, Khan emphasized the importance of connecting London and Lagos in ways that foster future developmental innovations.
The London mayor also paid his respects to the late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his passing as a sad loss for the nation.
Khan extended his condolences to Buhari’s family and the Nigerian people.
