Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles, popularly known as the Home Eagles, have declared their readiness to compete at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to take place from August 2 to 30 across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Led by head coach Eric Chelle, the team has opened camp in Ikenne, Ogun State, where 28 players are currently vying for spots in the final squad.

The camp includes friendly matches aimed at sharpening the team’s tactics and cohesion ahead of the continental tournament.

Rangers forward Godwin Obaje and Kwara United striker Kabiru Mohammed have expressed confidence in the squad’s potential, stressing the team’s unity and hunger for success.

“We are focused and ready to give our all,” Obaje said. “Nigeria is one of the best in Africa, and we intend to prove that again.”

Remo Stars midfielder Haruna Hadi added that training under Coach Chelle has been intense, with a focus on high pressing and aggressive football.

The Home Eagles are drawn in Group D alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.

Nigeria will kick off its campaign against Senegal at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar on August 7.

With strong determination and ongoing preparations, the Home Eagles are hoping to make a bold statement at CHAN 2024.
