Zambia forward Racheal Kundananji is confident that the Copper Queens can defeat Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their quarterfinal clash at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled for Friday at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca.

Kundananji, who has scored three goals and earned two Woman of the Match awards so far, is one of the standout performers of the tournament.

Known for her pace and precision, especially on set pieces, she believes Zambia has what it takes to overcome the nine-time champions.

“We did it before, and we can do it again,” she said, referencing Zambia’s 1–0 win over Nigeria in the 2022 bronze medal playoff.

Zambia finished second in Group A behind hosts Morocco, with two wins and a draw.

Nigeria, led by coach Justine Madugu, will be aiming to neutralize Zambia’s attack and assert their dominance.

The quarterfinal promises a thrilling showdown as both teams battle for a spot in the semifinals.
