Two Chinese Nationals Bags Jail term for Cyberterrorism, Internet Fraud

A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has sentenced two Chinese nationals, Huang Xiao Liang and Shi Yang Xiong, to prison for cyberterrorism and internet fraud.

Justice Dehinde Dipeolu handed down the judgment on Monday, July 14, 2025, following their prosecution by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The duo was found guilty of compromising the security of individuals and organizations through cybercrime activities.

The EFCC said the conviction reinforces its commitment to fighting cybercrime and protecting Nigeria’s digital space.
