President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has summoned an emergency Federal Executive Council (FEC), meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a personally signed statement, Tinubu announced that the special FEC session will be dedicated to celebrating Buhari’s life and service, describing him as a leader whose contributions to Nigeria were “towering and unforgettable.”
“The Federal Government will accord President Buhari full state honours befitting his towering contributions to our country,” Tinubu stated.
As part of the national mourning, the President directed that all flags across the country be flown at half-staff for one week.
He also offered prayers for the repose of Buhari’s soul, asking God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
