Buhari to Be Buried Today in Daura -Gov Radda

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced that the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in his hometown of Daura.

Addressing journalists at the Government House in Katsina on Monday, Radda stated that Buhari’s body will arrive in Katsina by 12 noon and will be laid to rest in Daura by 2:00 p.m.

“The burial arrangement for our father, the late president, who passed away yesterday in a hospital in London, has been concluded after consultations with his family and associates in London,” Radda said. “The body will arrive in Katsina by 12 noon tomorrow, and the burial will take place in Daura at about 2:00 p.m.”

Governor Radda extended his condolences to the Buhari family, the people of Nigeria, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“On behalf of myself, and the government and people of Katsina State, we condole the family, the entire nation, and especially His Excellency, the President. May Almighty Allah give us the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.

Buhari, aged 82, died on Sunday, July 13, in a London hospital. In the wake of his death, President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila to accompany the late president’s remains back to Nigeria.
