Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Monday inaugurated 16 new commissioners, urging them to immediately get to work and help fulfill the administration’s development agenda.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the International Centre for Culture and Events (The Dome), in Akure, the state capital.
In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the need for integrity, patriotism, and a people-first approach in public service.
He noted that the appointment of the commissioners followed a careful and merit-based selection process aimed at driving progress across the state.
“As you assume office, I urge you to hit the ground running. The people of Ondo State expect nothing but the best from us,” he said. “Your appointments are a testament to your capabilities, and I am confident in your potential to contribute meaningfully to governance.”
The governor also issued a strong warning to the commissioners’ families and associates, urging them not to exert undue pressure or seek personal favours.
“While we appreciate the support of your families and friends, they must not put you under pressure with unnecessary demands.
“You are appointed to serve the entire state, not just a few individuals,” he stated.
He further advised the commissioners to work harmoniously with civil servants and uphold due process in all official dealings.
Assuring other hopefuls, Aiyedatiwa said there were still opportunities to serve the state in various capacities.
The newly inaugurated commissioners are: Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, Ayorinde Olawoye, Ayodele Akande, Alabi Johnson, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, Adewale Akinlosotu, Idowu Ajanaku, Oluwaseun Osamaye, Dr. Tobi Loko, Olaolu Akindolire, Sunday Olajide, Omoyofunmi Segun, Bola Ademuwagun, Leye Akinola, Dr. Banji Ajaka, and Adesoji Afolabi.
