A 47-year-old woman, identified as Mama Asabe, has died after reportedly slumping on her farm in the Kigbe community, Yebu ward of Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to her relative, Ishaku Baba, the incident occurred shortly after she finished weeding her melon farm and decided to fetch firewood nearby.
“She was hale and hearty when she left home. No one expected such a tragedy,” Baba said.
One of her daughters, who accompanied her to the farm, ran home to inform the family after witnessing her collapse.
Villagers quickly mobilised and took Mama Asabe to a clinic in nearby Kwaku village, where she was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
