Linda Yaccarino has officially stepped down as CEO of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, after a two-year tenure marked by major transitions and bold initiatives.
Announcing her resignation on Wednesday via the platform, Yaccarino thanked Elon Musk for entrusting her with the role of reshaping X into the “Everything App” while safeguarding free speech.
She credited the X team for their efforts in improving user safety, restoring advertiser trust, and rolling out innovations such as Community Notes and X Money.
“Together, we achieved a historic business turnaround,” she noted, highlighting her commitment to creating a space where free expression and brand safety could co-exist.
Yaccarino also praised users, partners, and staff for helping transform X into what she described as “the world’s most powerful culture signal.”
Responding to her exit, Elon Musk expressed gratitude for her contributions. As of the time of this report, no successor has been announced.
