To align Nigeria’s financial sector with global digital trends, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has partnered with crypto exchange Quidax to train professionals on the evolving landscape of digital assets.
The training, held on July 9, 2025, at the Capital Club in Lagos, attracted representatives from leading institutions like Zenith Bank, Ecobank, ARM, Interswitch, and top investment and pension firms.
Abdulrasheed Dan Abu, SEC’s Head of FinTech and Innovation, stressed the need for financial institutions to keep pace with digital developments to avoid disruptions in the value chain.
Quidax CEO Buchi Okoro said the session, tailored for various expertise levels, aimed to equip participants with practical insights on blockchain and cryptocurrency integration.
The initiative follows Nigeria’s newly passed Investment and Securities Act, which officially classifies digital assets as securities under SEC regulation.
As digital finance expands, Nigeria is preparing its financial workforce to lead, not lag.
