Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has released a 20-man squad as Nigeria prepares to defend its title at the WAFU B U-20 Championship, which kicks off on July 10 in Accra, Ghana.
The squad features a blend of experienced players and fresh talents, reflecting the team’s ambition to retain the regional crown.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Ghana and Benin Republic.
The Flying Eagles will open their campaign against Ghana on July 10 at 3:00 PM, followed by a second group match against Benin Republic on July 13. Both fixtures will be played at the Prampram Centre in Accra.
With back-to-back titles under their belt, the Nigerian team is aiming for a third consecutive triumph in the tournament.
Coach Zubairu expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to deliver, describing the tournament as a crucial stepping stone toward the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
The Flying Eagles enter the competition with a strong pedigree and high expectations, hoping to maintain their dominance in West African youth football.
