Renowned entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as CharlyBoy, has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians for financial support for ailing Nollywood veteran, Tom Njemanze.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, CharlyBoy called on members of the public and the entertainment community to rally around Njemanze, who is currently battling health challenges.
“We must come together as a community to support our own, especially those who have played vital roles in shaping the industry,” he said.
Tom Njemanze, a respected figure in Nollywood, is known for his impactful roles and dedication to the craft.
Despite his contributions to the growth of the Nigerian film industry, he, like many other veteran actors, now faces serious financial and health-related difficulties.
CharlyBoy’s appeal sheds light on the ongoing struggles of many aging entertainers who lack access to sustainable support systems. He urged Nigerians of goodwill to extend help in any way possible.
The appeal has sparked conversations about the welfare of veteran artists and the need for structured industry-wide interventions to support aging talents in times of need.
