Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has defended his administration’s multibillion-naira flyover and road expansion projects in Warri and Effurun, describing them as strategic investments in urban mobility and economic growth.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor responded to criticism from APC chieftain and former Ethiope West Council Chairman, Chief Wilson Omene, who labelled the projects “ill-informed.”

“The flyovers, road expansions, and sleepway interchange are not cosmetic. They are long-term solutions to traffic congestion and enablers of commerce,” Oborevwori stated.

He said the projects connect ports, industries, and the hinterland, enhancing Delta’s business environment and attracting private-sector investment.

Responding to Omene’s suggestion that funds be directed toward building industries in Delta Central, the governor dismissed the claim as narrow and sectional.

“Delta State is bigger than any one senatorial district. Our M.O.R.E Agenda is being implemented equitably across Delta North, Central, and South,” he said.

Ahon added that the governor’s alignment with the APC is aimed at fostering federal collaboration, not personal gain, and urged critics to focus on facts rather than divisive politics.
