Media mogul and ADC chieftain, Chief Dele Momodu, has declared his support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as his preferred presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), coalition.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Monday, Momodu said his backing of Atiku does not invalidate the support of Obidients for Peter Obi.
“My best choice is Atiku. That’s my right, just as Obidients can back Obi and Amaechi’s supporters can back him,” he said.
Momodu claimed the ruling APC fears Atiku’s candidacy, hence its preference for a southern aspirant to emerge in the ADC.
He also stressed that the coalition’s presidential ticket should be determined democratically.
“I’ve never asked anyone not to support Obi. He’s my friend and a great candidate. Let all aspirants go to the field and test their popularity,” he added.
