The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has unveiled a set of innovative construction machines aimed at reducing building costs and accelerating housing delivery, particularly under its affordable housing programme.

The machines, developed by the Director of Federal Public Assets Maintenance, Ibechile Christopher Egwudale, were showcased before the Minister, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, and Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore.

They include interlocking compressed earth block (CEB), moulders, sandcrete mixers, pulverizers, sifters, and agro-processing tools like ogbono seed cutters and hammer mills.

Minister Dangiwa commended Egwudale’s ingenuity and urged further research to integrate the technology into the national Social Housing Programme.

He emphasized that such locally made innovations align with the ministry’s goal of providing quality, sustainable, and affordable homes for Nigerians.

Belgore also praised the initiative, describing it as a strategic step towards self-reliance in housing delivery amid rising construction costs.

He encouraged Egwudale to present housing prototypes for formal evaluation.
