The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to launch a fierce bid for their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), title as the 2024 tournament kicks off in Morocco from July 5 to 26.

Star striker Asisat Oshoala, making her fifth WAFCON appearance, expressed her readiness to lead the charge. “Personally, I want to score goals-it’s what I love to do,” she said. “Whenever I’m with the team, I give my best to ensure we win every game.”

Grouped alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana in Group B, the Falcons will begin their campaign on July 6 in Casablanca against Tunisia.

Coach Justine Madugu, confident in the team’s preparation, declared their mission clear: “We’re fully aware of our goal-‘La Decima’. We want to win our 10th title and bring the trophy back home.”

Veteran forward Stella Mbachu echoed similar optimism. “The Super Falcons will not lose any game at this tournament. They have what it takes to win every match and lift the trophy,” she said.

Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade also affirmed the squad’s determination, emphasizing their unity and improved preparation.

With a blend of experienced stars and rising talents, Nigeria’s Super Falcons are poised to reaffirm their dominance in African women’s football and etch their name in history once again.
