Bashir Ahmad, former President Muhammadu Buhari’s digital media aide, has debunked media reports claiming that the ex-president is critically ill and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ahmad confirmed that Buhari is indeed unwell and receiving medical attention but stressed that his condition is stable and not as dire as widely speculated.

“It is true that former President Buhari is unwell and is currently receiving medical attention,” Ahmad stated. “However, contrary to the exaggerated claims circulating in the media, he is stable and responding well to treatment, and we are optimistic about his full recovery.”

Ahmad also expressed gratitude to Nigerians and Buhari’s supporters for their concern and prayers.

“We appreciate the outpouring of prayers and goodwill from his supporters and well-wishers around the world. We continue to pray for his complete and speedy recovery. Thank you!” he concluded.
