Senator Agom Jarigbe of Cross River North has temporarily stepped back from legislative duties and constituency activities due to a health condition, putting a hold on a planned endorsement rally.
In a statement on Monday, Jarigbe said he is receiving medical care and, following his doctors’ advice, will be away for a short period.
He assured constituents of a swift return, possibly within two weeks.
“This is a necessary pause. I am under proper medical attention and expect to fully resume my responsibilities soon, God willing,” he stated.
The senator thanked his supporters for their prayers and cautioned against political exploitation of his condition, urging respect and compassion.
“Let us not lose our shared sense of humanity in the name of politics,” Jarigbe added, reaffirming his commitment to serving Cross River North and directing those needing urgent assistance to his constituency office.
