Top leaders and governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the South-South region have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, citing his reform-driven leadership and commitment to national development.
The endorsement was made during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday in Benin City, Edo State.
According to a statement by Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Governor, party stalwarts reaffirmed their confidence in Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Prominent speakers included Senator Adams Oshiomhole (Edo North), Minister of Niger Delta Development Abubakar Momoh, Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, and former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva.
They commended the president for key policy strides such as the student loan initiative and tax relief packages for low-income earners.
Senator Monday Okpebholo described the gathering as “unprecedented” and a symbol of growing unity within the region’s APC bloc.
He praised Tinubu as a “capacity-driven president” and pledged to secure at least 2.5 million votes for him from Edo State in 2027.
Okpebholo also credited recent federal road projects linking eight Uhunmwonde communities to the president’s continued support for grassroots infrastructure.
