Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters in a major raid at Joyous Hotel, Nyanya, Abuja.
The operation, carried out on Monday, June 30, 2025, was based on actionable intelligence as part of the Commission’s intensified efforts to combat cybercrime.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has repeatedly emphasized the agency’s commitment to curbing cyber-related crimes that tarnish Nigeria’s global reputation.
Confirming the arrest, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said, “They were arrested following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.”
He disclosed that the operatives recovered 86 mobile phones, one pistol, and three motorcycles from the suspects during the operation.
Oyewale added that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
