The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), has mourned the passing of Alhaji (Dr.) Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing him as a visionary businessman and humanitarian whose impact shaped Nigeria’s economic and social landscape.
Dantata died on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the age of 94.
In a condolence statement, CNG National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, praised the late elder statesman as a trailblazer in sectors including construction, banking, oil and gas, agriculture, and manufacturing.
“He laid the foundation for economic development in Northern Nigeria, created thousands of jobs, and promoted prosperity,” Charanchi noted.
Beyond business, CNG highlighted Dantata’s lifelong dedication to philanthropy; supporting education, healthcare, and peacebuilding across communities.
He was celebrated for his humility, wisdom, and commitment to national unity.
The group extended heartfelt condolences to his family, the people of Kano State, and Nigerians at large, praying that Almighty Allah grants him Jannatul Firdaus.
CNG urged Nigerians to uphold the values Dantata championed, which were unity, service, and hard work, so his legacy may continue to inspire generations.
