A 50-year-old man from Lagos, Ramoni Seriki, has been ordered to remain at Kirikiri Correctional Center after being charged with the sexual assault of his 13-year-old daughter.
The disturbing allegations emerged during proceedings at the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Seriki, a transporter residing on Obasa Avenue in Ijegun, is accused of the offense, which reportedly took place on June 18, 2025, at his home.
Prosecutor ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji informed the court that Seriki allegedly molested his daughter while she was asleep.
The situation escalated when it was revealed that the victim had confided in her mother, who has been estranged from Seriki for several years.
The prosecution stated that the alleged act violates Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Mrs. O. O. Kushanu did not accept Seriki’s plea, instead ordering his remand.
He is scheduled to return to court on September 11, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
This remand marks a vital step in the legal process as authorities continue to gather information regarding the case.
